Percocet (Oxycodone / Paracetamol)

Uses

This combination drug  Percocet (Oxycodone / Paracetamol) is used to relieve middle-to-severe pain. It includes an opioid (Narcotic) painkiller (oxycodone) and a non-opioid painkiller (Paracetamol / acetaminophen). Oxycodone works in the brain how your body feels and reacts to the pain. Acetaminophen can also reduce a fever.

How to use Percocet

See also the warning section.
Before starting oxycodone / acetaminophen, read the medication guide provided by your pharmacist and every time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Take Percocet guided by your doctor. You can take this medicine with or without food. If you have nausea, it can be helpful to take this medicine with food. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about other ways to reduce nausea (such as shaking the head as much as possible by lengthening from 1 to 2 hours).
If you are using the liquid form of Percocet, use the Measuring Tool to carefully measure the dose. Do not use domestic spoon because you can not get the right dose.
Dosage is based on your medical condition and treatment response. Do not increase your dose, take medication more often, or take longer than scheduled time. When instructed, stop the medication properly.
Pain medicines work best if they are used as the first symptom of pain. If you wait until the pain gets worse, the medication can not work.
If you are suffering from persistent pain (such as cancer), then your doctor may instruct you to take longer-lasting opioid medications. In that case, this drug can be used for sudden (success) pain. Other painkillers (such as ibuprofen, naproxen) can also be prescribed with this drug. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about using Oxycodone safely with other medicines.
Percocet may be the reason for the withdrawal reaction, especially if it has been used regularly for a long time or in higher doses. If you stop using this medicine suddenly, in such cases, symptoms of withdrawal (such as discomfort, water coming in the nose, nasal bleeding, sweating, muscular pain) can occur. To prevent withdrawal responses, your doctor may gradually reduce your dose. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information, and immediately report any refund responses.
When Percocet is used for a long time, it can not work too. Talk to your doctor if this medicine stops working well.
Although it helps many people, but this medicine can sometimes cause addiction. If you have any substance use disorder (such as drugs / alcohol excess or addiction) then this risk can be high. Take this medicine properly to reduce the risk of addiction. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
Tell your doctor if your pain remains or worsens.
