Pulmicort Respules (Budesonide) is used to prevent shortness of breath, chest tightness, wheezing, and coughing caused by asthma. Pulmicort Respules suspension (liquid) for oral inhalation is used in children 12 months to 8 years of age. Pulmicort is in a class of medications called corticosteroids. It works by reducing swelling and irritation in the airways to make breathing easier.
