Vancomycin

COMMON BRAND(S): Firvanq
GENERIC NAME(S): Vancomycin

Uses

Vancomycin, sold under the brand name Firvanq among others. Vancomycin is an antibiotic used to treat infections. This form of vancomycin is used to treat a certain intestinal condition (colitis) due to bacteria. This condition causes diarrhea and stomach / stomach problems or pain. When vancomycin is taken from the mouth, it remains in the intestines, which inhibit the growth of certain bacteria that cause these symptoms.
This antibiotic treats only the bacterial infection in the intestines. It will not work for bacterial infections in other parts of the body or for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). It is not necessary to use any antibiotic when it does not work for future transition.

How to use Vancomycin

Take Vancomycin guided by your doctor, usually every 6 to 8 hours. Shake the bottle well before each dose. Measure the dose carefully using special measuring instruments / spoon. Do not use domestic spoon because you can not get the right dose.
Dosage is based on your medical condition and treatment response. In children, dosage is also based on weight.
If you are also taking some bile acid-binding cholesterol medication (such as cholestyramine, colestipol), then take it at least 3 to 4 hours after taking vancomycin. Taking them together will reduce vancomycin’s work. Ask your pharmacist if you have questions.
For the best effect, take this antibiotic evenly to the distance. To help you remember, take this medicine at the same time every day.
Continue to take this medication until the full amount of the quantity ends, even after the symptoms disappear after a few days. The infection can come back very quickly by closing the medication.
