Uses

Spironolactone is used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. Reducing hypertension helps in preventing stroke, heart attack and kidney problems. This is done due to swelling (edema) due to some conditions (such as heart failure, liver disease), to remove excess fluid and improve symptoms such as respiratory problems.
Spironolactone is also used to treat low levels of potassium and conditions in which the body is using too much of a natural chemical (aldosterone).
Spironolactone is known as a “water pill” (potassium-sparing diuretic).

How To Use Spironolactone

Take this medicine from the mouth, as directed by your doctor. Take it with food or milk when the stomach gets worse. Precautions
