Fenofibrate

COMMON BRAND(S): Tricor, Triglide
GENERIC NAME(S): Fenofibrate

Uses

Fenofibrate is used with a proper diet to help reduce “poor” cholesterol and fat (such as LDL, triglycerides) and increase blood “good” cholesterol (HDL) in the blood. It works by enhancing the natural substance (enzyme) that breaks fat in the blood. Fenofibrate is related to a group of drugs called “fibrates”. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of Fenofibrate.
In addition to eating a proper diet (such as low cholesterol / low fat diet), changes in other lifestyle that can help this drug work better include exercising, weight loss and more smoking. Consult your doctor for more details.
