Simvastatin

Simvastatin is used to help reduce “bad” cholesterol and fat (such as LDL, triglycerides) with a proper diet and enhances “good” cholesterol (HDL) in the blood. It is related to a group of drugs called “statins”. It works by reducing the amount of cholesterol produced by the liver. Reducing cholesterol and triglycerides and reducing “good” cholesterol reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and helps prevent stroke and heart attack.
In addition to eating a proper diet (such as low cholesterol / low fat diet), changes in other lifestyle that can help this drug work better include exercise in it, lose weight and more smoking. Consult your doctor for more details.
